Shebas is a canine rescue in Jefferson Davis County dedicated to sheltering and caring for unwanted dogs. We passionately support keeping families and their pets together through difficult times. Since achieving 501(c)(3) status in April 2024, we have transformed the lives of over 400 dogs by placing them in loving homes or partner rescues and assisting families in remaining united. Our mission is driven by compassion, nurturing every dog with love and hope.
Mississippi, like much of the country, is overwhelmed with unwanted puppies and dogs. They are found on every corner and street—terrified, starving, and suffering. As long as irresponsible breeding continues, this suffering will persist. Shebas is a passionate advocate for spaying and neutering every pet. CARSON, MS – Founded in 2024, Sheba’s is a 501(c)(3) non-profit canine rescue organization serving Jefferson Davis County. Sheba’s operates in a county without animal control or a government shelter, providing a vital service to local law enforcement. We directly support the police department by accepting dogs impounded by officers, ensuring these animals receive care when no other options exist.Beyond direct rescue efforts, the organization is deeply committed to addressing the root causes of pet overpopulation. By sponsoring spay and neuter services when funds are available for local pet owners, Sheba’s provides essential financial support to ensure community pets receive the care they need.
